Junior High Art Projects

EXPRESSIVE TREES
After a discussion of art aesthetics, students were free to create their own version of a tree.
Rule: branches must touch the sides and top of the page and all the page must be filled with color.
Junior high students used twigs as brushes and dipped them in black tempera paint to make trees.
(easy clean up!) Oil pastels were used to color in the tree and background.
Mixing and blending colors required, and making gradations encouraged.
Some students took a realistic approach, others a more expressive one.
